Public Relations Committee Endorses Association for Accounting Marketing

In an effort to learn more about the Association for Accounting Marketing and a potential partnership with the Houston CPA Society, Mal Lusky, Chair of the Public Relations Committee, met with Karen Love, Director, Practice Growth at PKF Texas.

The Association of Accounting Marketing is the only association in the country formed specifically to address the growing marketing needs of public accounting firms.  The members are comprised of marketing professionals, CPAs and consultants, vendors, educators and students who seek to expand the business of public accounting.  Since 1989, AAM has provided members with the information, resources and market intelligence needed to excel and grow in their careers.

Lusky and Love discussed the benefits of such a chapter in Houston to further address the needs of Houston’s CPA firms and how such an association could benefit members of the Houston CPA Society as well as AAM.

AAM, a national organization with nine chapters, seeks to expand its presence into the Houston market by forming a regional chapter.  Although all AAM chapters are part of one incorporated non-profit organization, chapters have their own officers, manage their own finances and select their own projects according to interests of local members.

While a number of national members live and work in Texas, there has not been a regional chapter to assist in recruiting and supporting members.  AAM is actively pursuing the formation of a Houston chapter.  Membership is geared towards accounting firm marketing directors, marketing partners, managing partners, professional staff, as well as marketers in other professional services sectors.

Interested individuals who would like to assist in the formation of this chapter, or who would like further information, are encouraged to contact Karen Love of PKF Texas at 713-860-1459 or klove@pkftexas.com.
