The Texas Department of Transportation says Houston-area’s long-range transportation plan will have a $70 billion deficit. With 1 million more people expected to move into the Houston-area over the next 10 years, the Houston-Galveston Area Council seeks ideas on how get funding for transportation projects.

How should Texas close a $70B transportation funding gap?

  • Increase taxes/fees on gas, registration.
  • Add tolls to roads that don’t have them.
  • Texas shouldn’t even try.
  • Better roads aren’t necessary.
