Emily Smikal Named to Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2025 Honorees
PKF Texas Tax Director, Emily Smikal, CPA, has been named to the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2025 honorees.
This annual honor recognizes 40 of the Greater Houston area’s top business and community leaders under the age of 40. All of the 40 Under 40 recipients will be honored in a special section of the Houston Business Journal in July, and at an event the evening of July 17th.
Emily’s career is a testament to perseverance, leadership, and impact, beginning as an intern in 2008 and becoming one of the youngest to rise to Director in the firm’s history by 2021. She has spearheaded growth in PKF Texas’s not-for-profit practice, with 11.5% annual expansion since 2018, while also serving the complex needs of high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Beyond technical excellence, Emily is a force for talent development, creating a mentoring program that pairs junior professionals with experienced team members, fostering a culture of excellence and support. Her influence reaches beyond the firm, with active involvement in speaking engagements and a recent appointment to the inaugural Professional Advisor Council of the Greater Houston Community Foundation.
