Russ: This is PKF Texas Entrepreneur’s Playbook. I’m Russ Capper, this week’s guest host. And today I’m here with Frank Landreneau, International Tax Director at PKF Texas. Frank, it’s good to have you back on the Playbook.

Frank: Thank you, Russ. Good to be here.

Russ: You bet. Well, I’m always impressed with the amount of international business activity that takes place here in PKF.

Frank: Thank you.

Russ: What’s going on in the near term in that category?

Frank: Well, we have something very exciting coming up on February 5th; we have our Second Annual International Business Forum, which is a presentation with a number of panelists. I have the great opportunity to be on that panel, as well as a representative from the law firm of Kane Russell Coleman & Logan, a representative from Regions Bank, as well as someone from the U.S. Commercial Services and XM Bank.

Russ: Well, Frank, I attended the First Annual International Forum last year and it was impressive.

Frank: Thank you.

Russ: The panel had areas of expertise that were off the charts, and the audience was even great. The Q&A particularly I was impressed.

Frank: It was very active.

Russ: So we should expect this again?

Frank: I should think so, because there are a number of things, you know, developing in the international world. Some particular items that were subject to possible exploration is now continues on as being a benefit. There’s lots of talk about it.

Russ: You know, I’m always a fan of international business because I think it makes all these different countries sort of come together and cooperate more. But I’m always also blown away by the complexity.

Frank: Exactly. That’s one of the things, a lot of the people in our audience will be people who have never done business internationally, so that’s what they’re coming to get, is information about what type of things should I know about, you know, from a tax perspective, financing perspective, trades and regulation, just the whole host of issues.

Russ: Okay. I’m really looking forward to it. What’s the date again?

Frank: February 5th.

Russ: Okay. Here at PKF Texas, right?

Frank: Here at PKF Texas, yes. Up in our training room.

Russ: All right. All right, great. All right, this has been another Thought Leader production, brought to you by PKF Texas Entrepreneur’s Playbook. Tune in next week for another chapter.
