Russ: This is the PKF Texas – Entrepreneur’s Playbook®. I’m Russ Capper, and I’m here with Kirsten Strieck, president of Joint Ventures Strategic Advisors. Kirsten, welcome back to the Playbook.
Kirsten: Thanks for having me, Russ.
Russ: You bet. Okay. Last time you were on, we talked about JVSA and we kind of got into the service area by first really talking about your audit service. But there’s a lot more than that right?
Kirsten: There absolutely is.
Russ: Okay. Tell us about that.
Kirsten: JVSA, in the past, has always provided consulting and advisory services to the joint venture departments in the energy sector. And so, we’ve recently bundled all those up, and we’ve formed a new division called JV Solutions.
Russ: And what all does that include?
Kirsten: So, JV Solutions provides options for the energy industry where they don’t want to hire a full-time employee or part-time, so they outsource certain areas of that work. So, part of what we can do for them is provide joint venture accounting services, production accounting, desk services, royalty desk services, audit coordinator role. There’s multiple areas where we can go in and help those departments fulfill what they need to get their jobs done.
Russ: Is that sometimes just for a month or a week or sometimes is it full time, 10 years?
Kirsten: So, right now we’re actually doing some production accounting desks. And that is for companies who don’t have production accountants on staff in Canada or in the U.S. And so, we do that work full time. There are also other consulting positions where it’s a special project and we can do it for one or two months until that project is complete.
Russ: What else is on the services list?
Kirsten: So, we provide dispute resolution, you know, that you might have with your partners. We provide litigation support. We also help in the, like I mentioned, audit coordinator roles. So, you might need an audit done in your shop, but you don’t have anybody coordinating that. So, we provide that person to you to do that role for you.
