See You at the International Franchise Association Annual Convention in San Diego

Russ: This is the PKF Texas – Entrepreneur’s Playbook®. I’m Russ Capper, this week’s guest host, and I’m here with Carlos Gomez, a manager in Contract Compliance Services. Carlos, welcome to the Playbook.

Carlos: Pleasure.

Russ: Okay, so we’re here to talk about the franchise business, right?

Carlos: Yes, sir.

Russ: Okay. The International Franchise Association’s Annual Convention is coming up real soon, right?

Carlos: Yes, sir. It’s February 26th through March 1st in San Diego, California at the Convention Center.

Russ: Will there be franchisors and franchisees there?

Carlos: Yes, sir. There’s going to be a large amount of the franchisors, as well as franchisees and suppliers such as PKF Texas.

Russ: Okay. Has PKF Texas attended this convention before?

Carlos: No, sir. This is our first time. We’ve done other expos and other similar things within the franchising industry and hosted events, but this is our first one going to IFA’s Annual Convention.

Russ: Okay. But you do have quite a bit of experience in the franchise world, right?

Carlos: Yes, sir. We have clients, both franchisors, franchisees, and been operating in this industry for over eight years or so.

Russ: Okay. So, what would an attendee experience at the convention?

Carlos: I think this convention is really geared towards educational seminars to help get a real grasp on what’s going on in the franchising industry, ways to improve your business not only as a franchisor but as a franchisee, and network, get the opportunity to meet some of the key players and grow recognition for your brand.

Russ: Well, I’ve got some experience in that arena a bit, so, but is PKF Texas actually going to be an exhibitor on the floor?

Carlos: Oh, yes, sir. We are exhibiting; we’re going to be at booth 405. So please stop by and come see us.

Russ: Okay. Write that down: 405. Experience in those conventions, man, you got to have good shoes, too.

Carlos: Yeah, we’re going to try and walk the floor the best we can. You know, we want an opportunity to meet anyone and everyone that wants to have a discussion to kind of understand what we do in Contract Compliance Services and what value we can add to both the franchisors — whether we’re performing franchise compliance audits or we’re helping franchisees establish their business and segregating their different line of businesses, different services and reporting accurately to the franchisors.

Russ: I really appreciate hearing about it and having you on the Playbook.

Carlos: Yes, sir. Thank you.

Russ: This has been another thought leadership production brought to you by PKF Texas – The Entrepreneur’s Playbook®. Tune in next week for another chapter.
