Microsoft Dynamics NAV – When to Make the Move

by | Jun 18, 2012 | PKF Texas - The Entrepreneur's Playbook®, Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Note: Running weekly in FromGregsHead.com, PKF Texas – Entrepreneur’s Playbook® is a continuing series of tips brought to you by Greg Price. These run Sunday evenings during the BusinessMakers Radio Show on KPRC 950AM.

Greg: This is PKF Texas’ the Entrepreneurs’ Playbook. I’m Greg Price, Director of Consulting Solutions and I’m here again with Jeff Hall, a Dynamics Partner Account Manager at Microsoft. Jeff, welcome back to the Playbook.

Jeff: Thanks for having me, Greg.

Greg: So Jeff, the last time you were here, we were talking about Microsoft Dynamics NAV. So, when is the right time for someone to consider moving to a product like that?

Jeff: Well, you know, companies start off and they have software that helps them account for their transactions and then they typically will get to a point where they’ve got a more sophisticated business environment and processes. They’ve got growth ambitions, strategic initiatives underway and so forth, and they need to transfer into a system that’s gonna be GAAP-compliant for starters, that’s gonna help them automate processes, get better control and visibility into their operational margins and their cash flow, and really helped them set the stage for growth and doing the things that they’re trying to do. So at the end of the day, when you buy a system like this, you’re trying to save time, save money, and leverage the technology so that you can make more money and grow the business.

Greg: That’s an excellent background on this product. So, what would be additional advantages for a customer to have with Dynamics NAV?

Jeff: When you got the right technology in place that helps automate processes and facilitate growth, you don’t have to worry about scalability. So as long as you’ve got a technology like Dynamics NAV that is going to match the growth ambition of your business and the directions that your business may go, you can focus on the business itself and not have to worry about concerning yourself with the technology and bloating IT costs.

Greg: Jeff, thanks for sharing that insight with the product. Can we have you back again to talk more about it?

Jeff: Any time.

Greg: All right, we’ll do that. This has been another Thought Leader Production, brought to you by PKF Texas, the Entrepreneur’s Playbook. Tune in next week for another chapter and remember, if you’re considering a business management software solution like Dynamics NAV, give PKF Texas a call.
