Successful companies are continually seeking the next step for their marketplace positioning. Looking beyond the numbers, are you positioning people in your company as thought leaders in your industry?
This doesn’t have to and shouldn’t fall solely on your CEO’s shoulders. Identify which of your team members has a unique perspective or specific technical knowledge and who can articulate that knowledge in an interesting way.
As a part of your overall PR strategy, seek out ways to use this knowledge to the benefit of your brand positioning. Based on the skill sets of your team members this can include:
• Writing an article
• Speaking engagements including panels and seminars
• Interview opportunities
• Joining the boards of key industry organizations
Each option offers different benefits, but all enhance your brand positioning and encourage the audience to seek your company out as a resource. The key here is repetition. If you only write one article or speak on one panel, you won’t see benefits. It must be a conscious and continuous effort to keep your team members in front of your target audiences.
