When you are looking to hire a new team member, where are you looking for candidates?

Depending on the role needed, it may be beneficial to look outside of your industry.  It is important to keep in mind what skills you are looking for and then reach out to relevant organizations who can funnel you qualified candidates.

For example if you’re an energy firm in need of a graphic designer, posting the position on a job bank for your local chapter of the AIGA, the professional association for graphic designers, will net more targeted results than posting on a generic job search website.

Also reaching out to recruiters or staffing agencies specializing in specific industries can help you narrow your search.

With the companies beginning to add more team members as the economy recovers, knowing where to find the great talent is key to putting you ahead of your competition.
