Greg: This is PKF Texas, the Entrepreneur’s Playbook. I’m Greg Price, Director of Consulting Solutions and I’m here with Frank Landreneau, a director in our international tax practice. Frank, welcome to the Playbook.
Frank: Thank you Greg for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here.
Greg: So Frank, I understand from what we’ve been reading and seeing you do over the years here at PKF Texas is that you have quite an extensive background in international tax working with our affiliated firms.
Frank: That’s right.
Greg: So Frank, what are some trends that you’re seeing emerging both here with our firm and the other firms that you’re helping.
Frank: What we’ve been seeing Greg is ever since the 2008 financial crisis more and more of our clients are looking to go outside the U.S. for growth.
Greg: Do you have any examples of where maybe this outside look-see for growth in international business has really paid off?
Frank: I do. In fact one of my clients who’s a manufacturer has done incredibly well here in the United States for about 30 or 40 years and never did a whole lot outside the U.S. other than have an export function. Now they’re looking to expand their business by creating a subsidiary in places like India, China, Canada and other parts of the world particularly in the emerging market area.
Greg: So it sounds like we’re going to have to have you back to cover some of these other areas that you just mentioned out there, Brazil and China and India.
Frank: Absolutely. There’s a lot to talk about.
Greg: All right. We’ll have you back on the Playbook to go over that again.
Frank: I appreciate it. Thank you.
Greg: This has been a Thought Leader Production brought to you by PKF Texas, the Entrepreneur’s Playbook. Tune in next week for another chapter. If you’d like to get more information about an international business go to PKFTexas.com/InternationalDesk
